2nd Cornet - Nicola Moran

Nicola has been playing for 25 years and been with Haydock for 19 years.  She  is the band’s librarian for her sins(!), and has also played BBb bass for the band at one point!

Nicola is employed as a vending machine operator.

3rd Cornet - Jennifer Cunniffe

Jen has been playing the cornet since she was eight, and was a member of the St.Helens Youth Brass Band for nine years.  She is a little rusty as of late as she has been at university and has not practiced in the three years she was there.

Jen has just finished her degree in English Literature from the University of Sheffield.  She is finding it very strange no longer being a student as that is all she has ever known!

Jen enjoys live music and tries to go to see bands at least once a month.  She attends the V Festival every year.

Repiano Cornet - Clare Ashton

Clare started life as a brass player playing the trumpet at the age of eight in Primary School. After seeing the light she turned her abilities to the Cornet playing in St. Helens Youth Brass Band.

Studying under the instruction of Lynda Nicholson and being educated at De La Salle School, Clare became involved in music at all levels, including Bands, Orchestras and choirs. After formal education Clare moved on to Carmel College studying Music Tech, Spanish and Computing.

She is presently studying Creative Music Technology at Huddersfield University and is looking into a career in music teaching.

When Clare isn’t doing something ‘musical’ she enjoys socialising (drinking beer), travelling and skiing!!
